Colonization
The first European explorers to explore the region were the French. Until 1763, the Ohio region was part of the French colony of New France, from then British control. With the independence of the United States in 1783, the United States came to control the region. Ohio became the first territory of the Northwest Territories to be elevated to statehood, and the 17th to enter the Union on March 1, 1803. [9] The expansion westward and the construction of numerous railroads in the state, the discovery of numerous deposits of coal and a strong agricultural industry led to Ohio to become a mid-nineteenth century into a major industrial power. Ulysses S. Grant, a native of Ohio, was one of the main leaders of the Union during the Civil War.

Neil Armstrong, first person to walk on the moon. The chief executive officer is the governor of Ohio. The President is elected by the voters of the state for a term of four years. A given person may exercise the office of governor as many times as you like, but not twice. Run by the Governor the responsibility to indicate to the officers of the Executive and Judicial. However, all indications need to be approved before the state Senate. All Executive officers appointed by the Governor can not exercise in two consecutive terms. Ohio's climate is temperate, which are four distinct seasons with warm summers and cold winters. However, the weather varies greatly from season to season. The weather in Ohio is relatively unstable, and can change suddenly, especially in winter. The main reason for this instability is the absence of geographical barriers in the state and its vicinity, allowing the rapid movement of air currents coming from any direction.
